Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke is seeing red after his band's former record label, EMI, issued reports claiming that the band demanded more than 10 million pounds ($19.8 million) in advance payment for 'In Rainbows,' a marketing budget for the new album and rights to previously-released material, among other things.

"Radiohead were demanding an extraordinary amount of money and we did not believe that our other artists should have to subsidize their gains," A representative from EMI explained to the Times of London.

Yorke, meanwhile, responded by addressing EMI chairman Guy Hands directly on the band's website Friday. "To be digging up such bulls---, or more politely airing yer dirty laundry in public, seems a very strange way for the head of an international record label to be proceeding," he said. Yorke went on to explain that all Radiohead "wanted was some control over our work and how it was used in the future by them. That seemed reasonable to us, as we cared about it a great deal.".
